Eligibility for ESIC
The ESIC scheme is designed to benefit a wide range of workers employed across various sectors. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
Employees
- All employees earning a monthly wage of up to ₹21,000 (₹25,000 for persons with disabilities) are eligible for ESIC benefits.
- The scheme is applicable to workers in factories, establishments with 10 or more employees (20 or more in some states), and other specified industries such as hotels, restaurants, cinemas, and more.
Family Members
- Employers in applicable establishments are required to register under the ESIC Act and contribute to the scheme, ensuring their employees are covered.
- ESIC coverage extends to the employee’s immediate family members, including the spouse, dependent children, and, in certain cases, dependent parents.

- Disability Benefit: In case of temporary or permanent disability due to an employment injury or occupational disease, ESIC provides financial support to the insured employee.
