Dyslexia

Many individuals experience symptoms that closely resemble dyslexia. In cases where these symptoms are not caused by dyslexia, an underlying vision issue may be the culprit—something that we can effectively address.

For those who have dyslexia, our focus is on enhancing their visual efficiency and processing abilities. While we do not treat dyslexia itself, our approach helps individuals better engage with educational instruction by improving their overall visual function.

How to Differentiate Between Vision Issues and Dyslexia

A comprehensive functional vision exam is essential in determining whether the root cause of the symptoms is vision-related. Some individuals may have both dyslexia and a vision disorder. In such cases, vision therapy should be integrated into a multidisciplinary approach that includes educational support and counseling to address all aspects of learning challenges.

Common Symptoms

There are several overlapping symptoms between vision problems and dyslexia. These include difficulties with eye tracking, eye coordination, and visual perception. Individuals may struggle to follow lines of text, experience words appearing to move on the page, or even see letters reversed.
