Nandadeep School of Optometry, formerly known as Prof. CR Patwardhan School of Optometry serving since 2012, is one of its kind which aims to produce not only the best Optometrists but also to create a new generation of optometrists which is infused with high professional and social ethics. We aim to equip the budding Optometrists with the most recent technological and academic knowledge and training to keep up with the global standard of Optometry.
The college is affiliated with MUHS, Nashik under reference number as University letter no. MUHS/PB/UG/B.Sc. Optometry /68/2022 dated 17/01/2022. University Circular number 56/2021 Date 30/10/2021.

What is Optometry?
Optometry is primary eye care profession of eye and visual system which deals with detection and diagnosis of vision related disorders as well as management of visual disorders and visual rehabilitation.
Who is an Optometrist?
- An Optometrist is a health-care professional who detects and diagnoses the eye and vision-related disorders.
- An Optometrist plays a crucial part in the management of visual disorders with the aids of spectacles, contact lenses, vision therapy and low vision devices.
- An Optometrist also rehabilitates and counsels the patients for low vision, speciality contact lenses, LASIK and other refractive surgeries.
Skills you will acquire
- Prescribing glasses after refractive error corrections
- Detection of ocular and vision related diseases
- Prescribing refractive, speciality and therapeutic contact lenses including fitting and dispensing
- Prescribing low vision aids and assistance including rehabilitations
- Diagnosis of oculomotor and ocular alignment related conditions like squint
- Occupational Optometry in the industrial and the occupation sector
- Community services as a primary eye-care provider among the less assessable section of the population
- Providing proper guidance for the further follow-up and referral wherever required

Dr. Sourabh D. Patwardhan
Dr. Sourabh has been interest in retinal surgeries, glaucoma and eye diseases of children. He has also specialized in advanced phaco technology. He has expertise in managing difficult cases of cataract.
Within few years Nandadeep Eye Hospital has become apex institute for diabetic retinopathy and retinal diseases management.
In 2010, Dr. Sourabh Dilip Patwardhan joined Nandadeep Eye Hospital. He has an illustrious academic career.
