The four main types of lenses are:
Monofocal Lens:
Standard and most commonly used. Gives clear distance vision (TV, driving, walking). Limitation: Glasses required for reading/near work.
Toric Lens:
For people with cylindrical power (astigmatism). Corrects cataract + cylindrical number for sharper distance vision. Limitation: Still need glasses for near vision.
EDOF (Extended Depth of Focus) Lens:
Provides clear distance and intermediate vision (computer, mobile, cooking). Most daily activities without glasses. Limitation: May need glasses for fine print; not ideal for frequent night drivers.
Trifocal Lens:
Covers distance, intermediate, and near vision. Minimizes glasses use in most cases. Limitation: Mild glare/halo at night for some patients.

दूरचे व मध्यम अंतरावरील दृष्टी चांगली होते (कॉम्प्युटर, मोबाईल, स्वयंपाक). बहुतांश दैनंदिन कामे चष्म्याशिवाय होतात. त्रुटी: अगदी सूक्ष्म अक्षर वाचायला चष्मा लागू शकतो. सतत रात्री गाडी चालवणाऱ्यांसाठी योग्य नसतो.
ट्रायफोकल लेन्स:
दूर, मध्यम व जवळची दृष्टी एकत्र सुधारतो. चष्म्यावरील अवलंबित्व खूप कमी राहते. त्रुटी: काही रुग्णांना रात्री गाडी चालवताना हलकी झगमगाट/प्रकाशाचा वलय जाणवतो.
