आमच्याकडे रोज बरेच रुग्ण एक खास समस्या घेऊन येतात, ती म्हणजे “डोळ्यांसमोर जाळ्या, ठिपके, लाईन्स किंवा वेगवेगळ्या रेषा दिसणे”. बऱ्याचदा डोळा हलवला की हे ठिपके किंवा जाळ्या देखील हलतात. विशेषतः पांढरा बॅकग्राउंड, आभाळ किंवा मोबाईल-कंप्यूटरच्या व्हाईट स्क्रीनकडे बघितल्यावर हे जास्त प्रमाणात जाणवतात.

• फ्लोटर्स तयार होण्याचे कारण: आपल्या डोळ्यातील लेन्स आणि पडद्याच्या मध्ये ‘विट्रेस’ (Vitreous) नावाचे एक जेल असते. वय वाढते तसे या जेलचे लिक्विफेक्शन (Liquifaction) म्हणजे पाण्यात रूपांतर होणे चालू होते. या प्रक्रियेत जेलचा काही भाग तुटून बाजूला होतो आणि डोळ्यांसमोर फिरू लागतो, ज्याला आपण फ्लोटर्स म्हणतो.
• सर्वात महत्त्वाची गोष्ट: फ्लोटर्समुळे तुमच्या दृष्टीला (Vision) कुठलाही त्रास होत नाही.
